Hilmi Özçakır was born in Çanakkale in 1974. He graduated from the Constructional Engineering program of Uludağ University and then the Constructional Projects Management program of Istanbul Technical University with great success.
He started his professional life in 1999. In 2000, he started to work for Carrefour Group, executing the new store launches of DiaSA supermarkets. Afterwards he worked as the Asset Manager of Mc Donald’s Turkey, responsible from the renovasion and expansion of all present stores, until 2003. In 2003, he was employed by Turkmall Retail Company as the Asset and Leasing Manager. When the company merged with Multi Corporation in 2004 and Multi Turkmall was born, he worked there as the Leasing Director until 2010. In this process, he united 1.750 tenants with 750.000 squaremeters of rentable space of shopping malls such as Forum Bornova (İzmir), Forum Mersin, Forum Çamlık (Denizli), Forum Trabzon, Forum Aydın, Forum Ankara Outlet, Forum İstanbul, Forum Kapadokya (Nevşehir), Forum Kayseri ve Marmara Forum (İstanbul). By maintaining successful tenant relationships with the finest national and international retailers, he pioneered in international companies getting into the Turkish market. Upon the companies’ spit in 2010, he continued his carreer as the Vice President of Turkmall, coordinating all of the leasting and mall services. In 2012, he rose to the position of Chief Executive Officer and took on the development, investment, leasing and management of such projects as; Novada Outlet Söke (Aydın), Bulvar Yaşam Merkezi (Samsun), Novada Ataşehir (İstanbul), Novada Tokat, Uniq İstanbul Cultural Center , Novada Outlet Akhisar (Manisa), Symbol Yaşam Merkezi (Kocaeli), Novaland Konya, Novada Edremit (Balıkesir), Novada Yozgat, Novada Park Şanlıurfa, Novada Ordu, Novada Menemen, Mazi Plus Mall (Iraq), Sarajevo City Center (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Uptown Tibilisi Shopping Center (Georgia)  and Forum Almaty (Kazakhstan) and maintained them successfully until 2017.
In April 2017, he founded MDM Retail Company. Hilmi Özçakır is currently married with three kids.
